Reaching the Kalash: A Forgotten People in the Mountains of Pakistan
Deep in the mountains of Chitral, Pakistan, lives the ancient Kalash tribe—one of the last 100% unreached people groups. With only 4,000 people remaining, they face cultural pressures, lack of education, and almost no access to the Gospel. Recently, God opened doors for KMI to spend time among them, build relationships, and begin plans for a Computer & Language Center that will serve as a bridge for discipleship. This is a powerful opportunity to reach the unreached and see God’s Kingdom advance.

Today, however, this once-thriving community is in danger of disappearing. Once numbering tens of thousands, the Kalash population has dwindled to around 4,000 people. Many have been pressured or forced to abandon their ancestral beliefs and convert to Islam. As a result, the Kalash are not only an ethnic and cultural minority but also a 100% unreached people group—with little to no access to the Gospel.
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”
—Romans 10:14

Our Visit to Kalash Valley
This past month, our KMI team and partners journeyed into the remote Kalash Valley, a difficult trip across narrow, winding roads. For three days, we were welcomed into the homes of the Kalash, sharing meals, listening to their stories, and witnessing their way of life. God gave us favor and a person of peace, opening doors into their community and hearts.
We saw firsthand their struggles: lack of proper education, almost no computer access, and very limited resources for a sustainable future. Yet, we also saw their deep value in God’s eyes. These precious people are not forgotten by Him.
“Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.”
—Psalm 2:8

God’s Vision for the Kalash
During our time there, the Lord impressed on our hearts a clear vision:
To establish a Computer and Language Center in the Kalash Valley.
To provide education and training opportunities for young men and women.
To build lasting relationships through service, love, and discipleship.
To share the Gospel and raise up Kingdom disciples among this unreached tribe.
Through education, technology, and language learning, we believe God will open new pathways for the Kalash people to encounter His truth and experience His Kingdom.
KMI’s Calling: Reaching the Unreached
At Kingdom Ministries International (KMI), our vision has always been clear: to reach the unreached with the love and message of Jesus Christ. The Kalash Valley is a powerful example of how God is guiding us into places that many have overlooked.
This is not just our mission—it is an opportunity for you, our partners and friends, to join us. Together, we can sow seeds of hope, bring education, and shine the light of Christ in one of the darkest and most forgotten corners of the world.
“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…’”
—Matthew 28:18–19
